Fortunately for chocolate-making, my house is old and solidly built, and stays about 15 degrees cooler than the heat outside. That said, I still packed up all the truffles between layers of paper toweling (to offset condensation) in plastic containers and stashed them all in the fridge. Fortunately, I didn't have a lot of actual food in there, because there's not much room now for anything else.E-mails are going out to customers to explain the delay in shipping (the National Weather Service advisory shouts: THE HOTTEST WEATHER OF THE YEAR...MORE LIKE MID SUMMER...WILL BURST INTO SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST OREGON THURSDAY.. THEN CONTINUE OVER THE REGION INTO THE WEEKEND) and give an update. So, much typing in of e-mail addresses for me today.
Grr.

Hoorah for the California Supreme Court. And for the rest of the U.S., which is being dragged, kicking and screaming, into the current century.
Obama needs to be a little less, shall we say, informal with reporters. And perhaps a little less condescending to women while he's at it.
Today is National Chocolate Chip Day.
A new J.J. Abrams show, Fringe, has been given a prime time slot for fall by Fox, following House on Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. The X-Files-ish show centers on a young female FBI agent who has to deal with a whole lotta unexplained supernatural phenomena while working with Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble), an "institutionalized scientist whose work might be at the center of the coming storm." Lance Reddick (AKA 'that creepy black dude from Lost") plays a special agent for Homeland Security who heads the special Fringe division. Alex Graves (Journeyman, The West Wing) directs the two-hour pilot, set to air Aug. 26. (Read more about the show here.) Fox also announced that they're holding Joss Whedon's Dollhouse until midseason, airing Mondays at 8 p.m. as a lead-in to 24.
If you play The Sims (and I guess a lot of people do), you'll soon be able to get tiny little virtual IKEA furnishings for their tiny little virtual houses. Electronic Arts, Inc. has announced that they'll be offering The Sims™ 2 IKEA® Home Stuff in June. From the press release: "Turn your Sims’ living room into a haven of comfort and relaxation with a plush EKTORP sofa, a unique EXPEDIT TV unit, a complementing LEKSVIK coffee table and chic décor like the VÄNNA mirror. Create a revitalizing space in the bedroom, your Sims’ most intimate place at home with a new MALM bed, matching chest of drawers, a shapely Storm floor lamp and a bright red IKEA PS rug." Now if they'd just release Sims Fight Club, I might be interested.

I accidentally posted a message to your blog three times. I think I did it while hitting the back button to get to a site I visited earlier. Anyway, I am sorry about that. (It only did the "Are you a machine check?" once.)
The chocolates arrived here in Athens, AL in beautiful shape! I've really been enjoying them. :-)
